Dear friends, for my new album "JEWEL" that will be released in October 2010 I wanted to have some real special photos. I had the great honor to spend a whole day with a nomad family near Chokri and was even allowed to put on their dresses. It has always been a great wish of mine to be with the nomads and to take in this unique way of life. It was just beautiful and I felt so close to my roots.

A Tayloring school funded with BEYOND
04. Aug. 2010

It is a blessing that with the proceedings of BEYOND I was able to found the DEWA CHE Foundation in order to create sustainable projects to preserve the Tibetan culture. On this trip we have founded the Tayloring School of Tehor Chokri with our monk Lobsang Dawa who is a very talented taylor. He will teach 10 young Tibetans the art of Tibetan Tayloring. We travelled together to Chengdu, where we bought 5 old Sewing machines and 2 modern ones as well as a lot of beautiful material to create the tibetan dresses, as well as the robes for monks and nuns. After the 4 months training the taylor students will be able to work in the tayloring and earn their living. We are very excited and will of course keep close contact with them and follow their progress as they grow. I would like to express my deep thanks to my two wonderful BEYOND Sisters, Tina and Regula and of course to all of you that have  supported us with BEYOND all over the world.

Truly Yours,

Dechen

Back from Tibet
04. Aug. 2010

My husband and myself returned from Tibet safely and look back to an impressive and emotional trip to our homeland. We still dream of this fascinating landscape and the wonderful people. The unrest two years ago have calmed down and at the surface it seems to have stabilized. But it I believe it will take quite some time until all parties involved are fully satisfied. Despite all these circumstances we managed to bring some joy and hope to the hearts of the people. We visited our projects and we are glad to see that our social engagement has become very respected and appreciated by the local people. The clinic that our parents founded is run very well and is used by neary 30 - 60 patients a day.  This clinic is financially supported by friends of the Tsedon clinic in Switzerland and I take the opportunity to thank all the members for being such a big help. www.tsedon.ch
